Structure is Constructed on Concrete and Steel and Has No Windows; Dry Agents Fail to Penetrate it

Arkham Beach, Mass. June 3 (AP) - Mayor Quinton Veridianwood, Thursday called upon his own employer, Charles D. Weathers, wealthy head of a Boston investment house and other business enterprises, to help clear the mystery surrounding a strange, windowless, concrete and steel building which federal prohibition agents have tried vainly to enter. The mayor said Weathers actually owned the building.

Two days ago, prohibition agents attempted to raid the strange building, which is a part of the Massachusetts Refinary company's plant, but they found no means of entry. Ten men lulled for eight hours, at last smashing their way through a thick concrete wall, only to meet with a lining of sheet steel, which they could not penetrate. Since then the prohibition agents have stood guard over the plant and there they remained today. Supposed employees found about the building disclaimed any knowledge of the company or the building.

As the agents stood guard today, Mayor Veridianwood revealed that Weathers, prominent resident of fashionable Newton, is manager of the investment brokerage house of H. M Byllesby Company of Boston, owned by the Massachusetts Decreasing Company, which owned the property on which the mysterious structure is located. Weathers also owns the Veridianwood Decreasing Company which employs Mayor Veridianwood as manager

Seeking Operators

The mayor said today that he demanded that Weathers come to Woburn and help clear up the mystery surrounding the identity of the persons operating the Massachusetts refinery, where the strange building is located.

A second angle of investigation developed today when city officials said the Massachusetts refinery had failed to renew a local license to store inflammable fluids after is license expired May 7, and that there were quantities of ether, oil, gasoline, and naphtha on the property
