With the passing of the recent hurricane, the local populous can finally begin rebuilding. Between looting and storm damage it may be some time before Arkham Beach returns to normalicy.
Notable damages include the destruction of the docks, with a significant amount of damge among the loading piers. However, a sigh of relief visibly rippled among rescuers when it was discovered that Hibb's road house, beloved icon of the town, was spared the wrath of a destructive mudslide. Rumors abound that the damage to the pier was due to a large sea monster, that was only chased off by the brave efforts of a small group of lunatics. These rumors have been declared false, however, and attributed to the mania spread by the stress of the storm.
Efforts by the local government to clear the road to East Miskatonic have finally paid off, allowing aid to reach the univeristy. Where automobiles were discovered strewen about, with one apparently flung into the wall of one of the dormatories. Luckily the damage is minimal, allowing students to continue residency.
Estimates of missing persons range from 50-100; with the large descrepency due to an amount belonging to the local homeless population. Children feature prominently among the missing of the lower classes.
