Arkham Beach, May 7.—(AP)—
Positive proof that the curly-haired baby found in a hospital here is not the kidnaped Lindbergh child was obtained late Saturday.
The child found here has red hair, physicians said, and there were other positive dentification- marks which proved beyond a 'doubt It was not the Lindbergh heir.
The child did not conform, said physicians who examined it at St. Mary's hospital, in several respects with a description of Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr., which was rushed here from New York.
The physicians left no doubt whatever that the child could not be the kidnaped son of the "flying colonel." The child was brought here Wednesday night for treatment for bronchial pneumonia by a couple who said they were Mr. and Mrs, Will Moss. Moss said he was a plumber
here on a fishing trip, and asked charity treatment of the child, saying he had no money.
Saturday the man and woman were arrested by Constable Ed McCarter and held by Justice Randolph Pierson on default of $10,000 bond on kidnaping charges.
Pierson revealed, previous to definite identification of reports the child might be the Lindbergh baby, that he had been in communication with the Lindbergh home. He said he had been Informed, prior to the arrest, that the child "might be Lindbergh's."
Definite proof that such was not the case came within a short time after the arrests.
First reports from the hospital had said the child had red hair, but Pierson said he had heard it had curly blond hair and a pronounced dimple, both characteristics of the Lindbergh child.
Physicians, however, confirmed within a few minutes that its hair was actually red, and asserted that there was a close attachment between the Mosses and the child, which they said could not have grown up in a short time.
Later, when a detailed description was sent from New York, and closer comparisons were made, it was established that there were several pronounced discrepancies. At least one of these, the physicians said, was sufficient to prove beyond doubt that the youngster was not the Lindbergh baby.
